Ben Davies to miss rest of the season after shoulder surgery

Tottenham Hotspur defender Ben Davies will miss the rest of the season after undergoing surgery on his shoulder.

Tottenham Hotspur have confirmed that Ben Davies will miss the rest of the season after undergoing shoulder surgery.

The Welsh defender dislocated his shoulder in Saturday's 2-2 draw with Southampton, and the club decided an operation would give him the best chance of a full recovery.

It means that Davies will miss the final four games of the campaign, and it creates a problem for Mauricio Pochettino, who was without Danny Rose at the weekend due to a hamstring problem.

Rose is battling to be fit for Sunday's meeting with Manchester City at White Hart Lane, but Spurs could be forced to play Jan Vertonghen at left-back if he does not return.
