Tottenham defender Benoit Assou-Ekotto is reportedly ready to resume training by the end of the week following a knee injury.

Tottenham Hotspur defender Benoit Assou-Ekotto will reportedly return to training by the end of the week following a knee injury.

The Cameroon international has been sidelined for the last six weeks with the problem, but has avoided the need for surgery.

The 28-year-old will now be assessed by the Spurs medical team before joining up with his teammates, according to The Sun.

Tottenham host London rivals Chelsea at White Hart Lane on Saturday.
