Andre Villas-Boas: Tottenham Hotspur deserved big win'

Andre Villas-Boas says that Tottenham Hotspur fully deserved their win over Aston Villa on Boxing Day.

Tottenham Hotspur manager Andre Villas-Boas believes that his side fully deserved their Boxing Day triumph over Aston Villa.

A Gareth Bale hat-trick along with a Jermain Defore opener gave the North London outfit a 4-0 victory at Villa Park to move them up to fourth in the Premier League.

The Portuguese boss is adamant that Spurs were well worth their win.

"It was a very good performance, especially in the second half," said Villas-Boas.

"We deserved to get the lead early in the first half but Aston Villa defended very well and fortunately for us they came out a little bit more in the second half.

"It felt deserved with what we had been doing and it was a good overall performance from the players. We've been having a good December and hopefully we can continue."

Spurs travel to Sunderland on Saturday.
