Leandro Bacuna out for revenge against Tottenham Hotspur

Leandro Bacuna says that Aston Villa have made great strides since losing 4-0 to Tottenham Hotspur in the League Cup in September.

Aston Villa midfielder Leandro Bacuna has said that the 4-0 League Cup defeat to Tottenham Hotspur is behind them as they prepare to welcome Andre Villas-Boas's men back to Villa Park this afternoon.

The Dutchman said that their 3-2 win over Manchester City has given them the belief to avenge their drubbing in September.

"I thought we were unlucky in the cup match," the 22-year-old told the club's official website. "I think it will be a completely different game this time around. At the moment we are doing well.

"We have to go out there and show no fear. We are playing at home. Forget about the cup. We start this as a new game and we look to play well. The win over Man City gives us belief. For every player, it was a really big boost.

"It was great to get the win. Now we need to keep building. We need to make that level of performance the standard. If we're playing at home, we need to get the crowd behind us and play well."

Bacuna joined the Villans from Groningen in the summer.
