Gareth Bale heaps praise on his defensive teammates following the club's recent unbeaten form.

Winger Gareth Bale believes that the performance of Tottenham Hotspur's defenders is the main factor behind their unbeaten form.

Spurs have not slipped to a defeat in the Premier League for 11 matches, with the likes of Bale, Luka Modric, Aaron Lennon and Emmanuel Adebayor all receiving plaudits for their attacking displays.

However, Bale has insisted that such showings would not have been possible without a solid rearguard.

"I just think we've got the balance right," he told the club's official website. "We've Scott Parker in the team now and he covers every blade of grass, closes everyone down and gives us that security in midfield.

"Younes [Kaboul] and Ledley [King] have been great, Brad [Friedel] and the full-backs have been playing well and that gives us front five the licence to attack as much as we can and that has got us the goals.

"We're all playing with so much confidence at the moment."

Bale opened the scoring as Spurs beat Bolton Wanderers 3-0 on Saturday afternoon.
