Swansea City defender Steven Caulker vows to learn from his mistakes after he was arrested last month.

Swansea City defender Steven Caulker has vowed to learn from his mistakes after he was arrested last month.

The 19-year-old, on loan from Tottenham, was given a fixed-penalty fine for a public order offence in Swansea city centre.

"It was a tough time for me to deal with," Caulker said. "I was arrested for swearing in the street and it was something I shouldn't have done and I've apologised for it to the club. It won't happen again.

"The manager had words with me and said I've got to walk away from situations like that.

"I'm still only 19, so I am still learning from these things. If I find myself in a similar situation next time I'll be wiser for it and not let myself get involved."

Caulker feared that the incident would jeopardise his chances of staying on at Swansea when his loan review comes up in January, but the England Under-21 star says that he is fully committed to the South Wales club.

"It made me realise even more that this is a brilliant club to be part of," he said.

"I think I'll be here for the season now."

Swansea are currently 11th in the Premier League with 17 points from 15 games.
