Christian Eriksen happy with Tim Sherwood influence

Tottenham midfielder Christian Eriksen praises manager Tim Sherwood for giving him more first-team chances since taking charge at White Hart Lane.

Tottenham Hotspur midfielder Christian Eriksen has paid tribute to manager Tim Sherwood for giving him more first-team chances at White Hart Lane.

The Danish international was used sparingly at the start of the season under Andre Villas-Boas following his summer move from Ajax.

However, the 22-year-old is now eager to repay Sherwood for allowing him more time on the pitch since the turn of the year.

"[Sherwood] is different from Villas-Boas of course. It's been really fine. I've been playing so of course that is always nice," Eriksen told Sky Sports News.

"I'm just trying to repay him for the advice and the positive things that he has given me and, with the chance to play, I want to pay him back on the pitch."

Eriksen has scored five goals in 25 games for Tottenham this season.
