The Italian Football Federation has sent a letter to the Football Association condemning Thursday's attacks on Tottenham Hotspur fans in Rome.
One man is in a serious condition after a number of supporters were set upon outside a bar before the Europa League encounter between Lazio and Spurs.
Two Roma fans have since been charged with attempted murder.
"I beg you to send our apologies to all Tottenham's fans - and in particular to those families directly involved," wrote FIGC chairman Giancarlo Abete.
The FA announced on Friday that they would be reporting alleged anti-Semitic chanting during the match to UEFA.
However, Abete is believed to have left out any mention of possible abusive chanting by Lazio fans.
