Ledley King reveals that he still wants to play for England, despite being plagued by a chronic knee problem.

Tottenham defender Ledley King has revealed that he still has ambitions to play for England, despite suffering from chronic knee problems.

King has not featured for the national team since the 2010 World Cup, and his career at Spurs has been hampered by an injury which limits his training and his ability to play more than one game a week.

"I haven't given up [on England]. It's in the back of my mind but it's getting further and further away," the 31-year-old told Football Focus.

"I realise, going to the World Cup, how difficult it can be for a person in my position who doesn't train.

"Going away with England you really need time on the pitch, you need to gel and bond as a group."

King has made just seven appearances for Spurs this season, two away from the nine appearances he made for the North London club last term.
