Burnley boss Vincent Kompany is reportedly expected to reject any offer from Tottenham Hotspur over the coming weeks.

Burnley boss Vincent Kompany reportedly has little intention of entertaining any offer from Tottenham Hotspur this summer.

Last month, the Premier League outfit made the decision to part ways with Antonio Conte, a consequence of the club's inconsistent form and a remarkable outburst from the Italian when speaking about the mentality of the club.

Since then, his assistant Cristian Stellini has been in charge on an interim basis, but Spurs chairman Daniel Levy will make a full-time appointment ahead of 2023-24.

A number of names have been linked with the position, many of which have also been linked with Chelsea such as Luis Enrique and Julian Nagelsmann.

However, it has been reported that Kompany also has admirers behind the scenes at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium due to the impact that he has made at Burnley.

In his first year at Turf Moor, Kompany has guided the Clarets to promotion to the Premier League, with the Championship title likely to be secured at some point this week.

That has naturally enhanced the Belgian's stock in the short and long term, and the Manchester City legend can expect interest ahead of Burnley's return to the top flight.

Nevertheless, according to Football Insider, the 37-year-old is said to prefer to manage Burnley in the Premier League over making another switch at this stage of his career.

Upon his arrival last summer, Kompany penned a contract of at least four years and referred to the move to the second-tier club as "a project", an indication that he wanted to spend a significant amount of time at Burnley.

Speaking earlier this month, Kompany gave little time to questions about a potential switch to Spurs, telling reporters: "It is not at the forefront of my thoughts at all. Wherever I am, in my head, it is always the biggest job in the world.

"I don't waste answers on my future I said that from day one at Burnley, in anticipation that one day there would be questions like this. [I will] crack on. It's an enviable place to work. We have infrastructure, we have talent, it's an enjoyable place to work."

Kompany has put together a record of 31 wins, 14 draws and just four defeats - all away from home - from 49 matches in all competitions.

In his previous job at Anderlecht, Kompany posted 42 wins and 18 losses from 92 games, leaving him with just 24 defeats in his opening 145 matches as a manager.
