Tottenham Hotspur boss Harry Redknapp has praised Scott Parker, saying that the midfielder could "do a job" as England captain.
Redknapp is widely tipped to become the next manager of England, leading to speculation that he could name Parker captain of the Three Lions.
"I bent over backwards to get him here this summer," Redknapp said.
"Because as a person, not just as a player, you need good people. He's just a fantastic boy. He's a family man, he loves his football, he trains well, he plays well.
"He gets on with the job. He's not a minute's problem. He's not Billy Big Time, he's just a great boy, and I think that's what you need at your football club if you are going to do anything. You need them."
Parker signed for Spurs last summer following a four-year spell at West Ham United.
