Tottenham defender Jan Vertonghen tells his teammates to keep believing that they can qualify for next season's Champions League.

Tottenham Hotspur defender Jan Vertonghen has urged his teammates to keep believing that they can qualify for next season's Champions League.

Spurs will head into their final match of the campaign one point behind fourth-placed Arsenal following the Gunners' victory over Wigan Athletic on Tuesday night.

Tottenham must beat Sunderland at home on Sunday and hope that their local rivals drop points at Newcastle United if they are to finish in the top four.

"All we can do is win our games and it's important for us to keep believing," Vertonghen told the club's official website. "We would have to do that anyway on Sunday, so let's hope we can."

Tottenham last qualified for European football's top club competition in 2010.
