Tottenham Hotspur boss Andre Villas-Boas 'flattered' by Paris Saint-Germain interest

Tottenham Hotspur manager Andre Villas-Boas says that he is 'flattered' by Paris Saint-Germain's summer interest in him.

Tottenham Hotspur manager Andre Villas-Boas has admitted that it was "flattering" to be approached by Paris Saint-Germain over the summer.

The Portuguese coach revealed in June that the Ligue 1 champions wanted him to replace Carlo Ancelotti at the helm.

Despite rejecting the chance to move to Parc des Princes, Villas-Boas has no regrets over his decision to stay at White Hart Lane.

"That PSG had approached me was released [to the press] but I wanted to stay a second year at Tottenham, building on the work of last season, making two consecutive seasons in the same club for the first time in my career," Villas-Boas told L'Equipe. "There has never been a written bid from Paris. We never got to that stage."

When asked if he was flattered by their interest, Villas-Boas said: "Yes. If other people like the way you train, it's flattering, but Tottenham is a great club."

Spurs are currently second in the Premier League table after five games.
