Chris Waddle backs Tottenham Hotspur to challenge for Premier League title

Chris Waddle believes that Tottenham Hotspur can challenge for the Premier League title this season.

Former Tottenham Hotspur midfielder Chris Waddle believes that the North London club can win the Premier League title this season.

Andre Villas-Boas's side are currently seventh in the table on 20 points, but have struggled to find the back of the net having scored just nine so far.

"Arsenal are top so they need to be considered and Liverpool, Everton and of course Spurs can beat any of those three on their day," Waddle told the London Evening Standard.

"So it is hard to say if they could win when there are so many teams, but I believe Spurs can challenge the top three for the title if they can score a few more and go on a run."

Spurs will take on Manchester City on November 23.
