Erik Lamela insists that he is happy at Tottenham Hotspur following rumours that he is wanted by Serie A clubs.

Erik Lamela has calmed speculation over his future at Tottenham Hotspur by insisting that he feels settled at the club.

The Argentina international has been at the North London outfit since a £30m move from Roma in 2013.

The 25-year-old returned to action earlier this season after spending more than a year on the sidelines with hip injuries.

During the January transfer window, the winger was linked with a return to Italy due to the lack of game time on offer under Mauricio Pochettino at Spurs, but Lamela has claimed that he is at the right club.

"There's never been anything with the Bianconeri. Inter? I only think about the club I'm at, and I am very good here at Tottenham," Lamela told La Gazzetta dello Sport. "The club is getting better and better, and I love living in London.

"Pochettino is from Argentina like me and he knows that it is not easy for a young player to settle in quickly in a completely different culture. At the beginning I had many problems with the language, injuries and different football.

"After the first season many people told me to leave England, but I didn't want to give up, it was a challenge. Now I'm still here, so I made the right choice."

Lamela has played in 14 games in all competitions this season, but has started just three.
