Harry Redknapp looks to keep his squad of players together in order to maintain their title challenge.

Tottenham boss Harry Redknapp has expressed his desire to keep his current crop of players together throughout the January transfer window.

Redknapp, 64, believes that a strong squad will be vital if Spurs are to maintain their march towards their first league title since 1961.

The likes of Danny Rose, Heurelho Gomes and Niko Kranjcar are keen to move in order to get regular first-team football, but Redknapp is looking to keep them at the club.

"The odd game here and there won't be enough to keep them happy, but what can you do? You have got to have a big squad," said the veteran manager.

"Danny Rose came to see me and asked if he could go on loan. But I can't because if Benoit [Assou-Ekotto] gets injured, he is in.

"Gomes wants to move but I don't want him to go as we will need three keepers. You never know, you might get an injury and none of them are young."

Tottenham are currently six points behind league leaders Manchester City with a game in hand.
