Real Madrid have reportedly been informed by Tottenham Hotspur that long-time target Christian Eriksen is theirs if they offer Marco Asensio in exchange.

Tottenham Hotspur will reportedly only sanction Christian Eriksen's switch to Real Madrid if the Spanish club are given Marco Asensio in part exchange.

Los Blancos are believed to be interested in signing the Danish playmaker as they continue to rebuild their squad ahead of the 2019-20 campaign.

Eriksen admitted earlier this month that he is open to a move and, according to The Sun, Spurs are now ready to cash in on a player with just 12 months to run on his contract.

Madrid are rumoured to have offered Dani Ceballos plus £45m for Eriksen, but Spurs will look to persuade them to instead give up Asensio.

The 23-year-old was in and out of the Madrid side last season and managed just five goals and assists combined in La Liga.
