Tottenham Hotspur are reportedly preparing to test Aston Villa's resolve by launching a January bid for Christian Benteke.
The North London outfit were linked with the Belgium international in the summer before the forward opted to sign a contract extension with the Midlands outfit.
However, Tottenham, who spent over £100m on players following the sale of Gareth Bale in the summer, will try to sign Benteke for £28m, according to the Daily Star.
Benteke scored 23 goals for Villa last season and has netted five so far in the current campaign.
