Tottenham Hotspur have reportedly joined the race to sign West Ham United defender Winston Reid.
Reid's current deal expires at the end of the season, and the Hammers are believed to be willing to let him leave the club for free in the summer, rather than sell the centre-back for a fee below his value this month.
Arsenal were rumoured to be interested in the New Zealand international, with some reports suggesting that they were prepared to pay £3m to sign him as soon as possible.
However, The Telegraph claims that Spurs are ready to beat their North London rivals to the 26-year-old's signature by matching his demands of £60,000 a week and a £1m signing on fee.
Spurs are expected to sell club captain Younes Kaboul to Besiktas this month, and they are believed to be confident of offering a package which will persuade Reid to make the move to White Hart Lane.
