Tottenham Hotspur reportedly include Sporting Lisbon defender Tiago Ilori on their shortlist of transfer targets.

Tottenham Hotspur are reportedly considering a summer swoop for Sporting Lisbon starlet Tiago Ilori in a bid to add defensive cover.

Ilori has also been linked with Liverpool this summer, with the Portuguese club valuing the central defender at around £8m.

Spurs boss Andre Villas-Boas wants to add another defensive option amid concerns over Younes Kaboul's long-term fitness, an injury sustained by Jan Vertonghen last week highlighting the problem further.

Villas-Boas is currently monitoring a number of defenders and has included youngster Ilori on a shortlist of potential additions, according to the Daily Mail.

Versatile Romanian defender Vlad Chiriches has also been linked with a move to White Hart Lane in the last 24 hours, as Villas-Boas continues to mull over adding fresh faces to his squad.
