Tottenham Hotspur agree a deal to bring Boca Juniors midfielder Wilmar Barrios to the club, according to a report.

Tottenham Hotspur have reportedly agreed a deal to bring Boca Juniors midfielder Wilmar Barrios to the club.

Barrios, 24, is currently with the Colombia squad at the 2018 World Cup, and could be involved when the South American nation open their competition against Japan on June 19.

According to Radio Mitre, Spurs boss Mauricio Pochettino is a huge fan of the central midfielder, who is heading for the Premier League outfit following transfer talks.

The player, whose playing style has led to comparisons with Chelsea and France midfielder N'Golo Kante, could be a replacement for Mousa Dembele as the Belgian prepares to leave the capital outfit this summer.

Barrios started his professional career with Colombian side Deportes Tolima in 2013, before earning a move to Argentine giants Boca in 2016.
