Teddy Sheringham confirmed as new Stevenage manager

Stevenage confirm the appointment of new boss Teddy Sheringham, who will take on his first managerial role when the season comes to a close.

Stevenage have confirmed that Teddy Sheringham has been officially appointed as the League Two club's new manager.

The former Tottenham Hotspur and Manchester United striker, who has never held a managerial position before, opened talks with the club this week.

The 49-year-old drops down to League Two after spending a season as attacking coach under Sam Allardyce at West Ham United.

Sheringham will replace current manager Graham Westley, who has spent eight years overall at Broadhall Way, when the Premier League season comes to a close.

As a player at United, Sheringham won three Premier League titles, one FA Cup and the Champions League crown in 1999.
