Marko Arnautovic "happy" with Stoke City equaliser

Stoke City striker Marko Arnautovic says that he is "happy" to have scored the team's equaliser against West Ham United after having two goals disallowed.

Marko Arnautovic has said that he was "happy" to score the equaliser in Stoke City's game against West Ham United after twice having goals ruled out for offside.

Aaron Cresswell had given the home side an early lead, leading Arnautovic to twice think that he had levelled the scores only to see the assistant referee's flag raised, before eventually having a goal stand in stoppage time to secure a 1-1 draw.

The striker told the club's website: "I thought it was a good strike and I'm happy it helped us gain a point. In all honesty, I didn't see my shot go in because I had fell to the ground as I hit it, but the main thing is the result and the team spirit.

"We really pressed after going behind early on and I thought we were excellent with the way we pushed forward. It's good for the team that we don't let our heads drop when we concede and that needs to continue, we need to play like we did yesterday for every game.

"We gave everything and personally I was happy with my performance. I try to give everything in each game I play and yesterday I scored, so I am delighted and even more so because it got us a result. Of course, I thought we deserved to win but at the end of the day we took a point and we are happy with that."

The result keeps Stoke 10th in the table.
