Mark Hughes: 'Little point in appealing Football Association charge'

Stoke City manager Mark Hughes says that he will not contest a charge of improper conduct issued to him by the Football Association.

Stoke City manager Mark Hughes has decided to accept a charge of improper conduct which was issued to him after the club's game with Tottenham Hotspur.

Hughes was sent to the stands during the 4-0 defeat at the Britannia Stadium, while he was charged for failing to leave the dugout in a timely manner despite a misunderstanding over where he was allowed to sit.

However, rather than appeal the decision made by the Football Association, Hughes has opted to avoid the risk of further punishment as he looks to focus on overturning the club's poor start to the season.

The 52-year-old told reporters: "There is no point appealing because if you appeal and lose then it costs you more money. I would prefer to give that to my grandchildren."

Stoke make the trip to Selhurst Park to face Crystal Palace this weekend.
