Stoke City drop Kenwyne Jones from squad to face Crystal Palace

Stoke City manager Mark Hughes confirms that Kenwyne Jones has been dropped for this weekend's match against Crystal Palace.

Stoke City manager Mark Hughes has revealed that Kenwyne Jones will play no part in this weekend's Premier League clash against Crystal Palace.

Hughes also confirmed that the player had been fined for reportedly refusing to play in the Potters' 5-3 defeat to Liverpool.

"Kenwyne has been fined and it's obviously a situation that we found very disappointing," The Telegraph quotes Hughes as saying.

"We have spoken to him to try and get an understanding of why it happened. He has been in this week and trained, we get on with it. It's unfortunate because we didn't see it coming. Sometimes you make mistakes and I think on this occasion Kenwyne made a mistake."

Rumours have emerged suggesting that Everton are interested in Jones.
