Mark Hughes: 'Asmir Begovic undecided over Stoke City future'

Stoke City manager Mark Hughes reveals that Asmir Begovic has not made a definitive decision over his future at the Britannia Stadium.

Stoke City boss Mark Hughes has insisted that goalkeeper Asmir Begovic is yet to make a decision over his future at the Britannia Stadium.

The 27-year-old has reportedly courted interest from Manchester United this summer, with the Red Devils scouting a replacement for Real Madrid target David de Gea.

With a little over 12 months left on his existing deal, a departure is on the cards for Begovic but Hughes is adamant that he has not yet decided his future.

"There's tittle tattle and people making assumptions," he told the Stoke Sentinel. "But we haven't really sat down and discussed where we are with this. That will take place at the end of the season.

"I want him to stay, but we are realistic as well. Nothing has been decided one way or the other and I don't think Asmir has decided for himself either.

"No figures have been mentioned. We would never put a figure on a player because that would indicate we were selling him."

Begovic, who joined the Potters as a 22-year-old in 2010, has made 66 Premier League appearances over the last two years.
