Stoke City confirm Jermaine Pennant exit

Stoke City confirm that Jermaine Pennant will not be staying with the club until the end of the season.

Stoke City have confirmed that Jermaine Pennant has been released.

The winger rejoined the club in the summer, but a clause in his contract allowed the side to review his place in the squad this month.

The Potters announced today that the 31-year-old, who has not made a Premier League start this season, is free to look for a new club after they decided to activate the clause.

Pennant first joined the club on loan from Real Zaragoza in 2010, making the move permanent the following year.
