Sunderland striker Nicklas Bendtner is cleared of five charges of criminal damage.

Sunderland striker Nicklas Bendtner has been cleared of vandalising cars in Newcastle city centre.

The Danish international, currently with the Black Cats on a temporary basis from Arsenal, had been charged with five counts of criminal damage along with teammate Lee Cattermole.

However, Bendtner has been informed that he will face no punishment after the prosecution withdrew their case against him earlier today.

Cattermole's case has been adjourned until Monday, March 26.
