Paolo Di Canio: 'I'm ready to return to management'

Former Sunderland manager Paolo Di Canio says that he wants another job in football management.

Paolo Di Canio has revealed that he is "ready to return" to football management.

The Italian was sacked by Sunderland in September after a poor start to the season, which saw the Black Cats win just one of their first six matches.

However, following a period out of the game, the former Swindon Town boss says that he is looking for a new job and believes that his role in keeping Sunderland up in the 2012-2013 season should not be overlooked.

"I am ready to return. Five games cannot cancel what I did in the seven games before then, when I saved the club," Di Canio told BBC Sport.

Di Canio achieved promotion from League Two while at Swindon.
