Sunderland winger Adam Johnson has eyed a return to the England side but has insisted that he was not "disappointed" to be snubbed from the squad that will face Sweden tonight.
The former Manchester City player was not picked by manager Roy Hodgson for this evening's friendly but Johnson has claimed that the 2014 World Cup qualifiers are more important.
"I have not given too much thought about the England situation," The Chronicle quotes Johnson as saying.
"I am certainly not the only one of the usual squad who has not been involved, I think there are five or six others. So hopefully I will be back when the qualifying games resume.
"Ideally I would like to be in every squad. England is a massive thing but I was not too disappointed with it being friendly rather than a qualifier."
Meanwhile, Liverpool captain Steven Gerrard will win his 100th cap for England in Stockholm tonight.
