John O'Shea demands Sunderland response

Sunderland defender John O'Shea urges his teammates to focus on winning their relegation battle after being dumped out of the FA Cup.

John O'Shea has urged his Sunderland teammates to forget about their FA Cup defeat by Bradford City and focus on staying in the Premier League.

The Black Cats were dumped out of the competition after losing 2-0 to the League One outfit at Valley Parade on Sunday.

Gus Poyet's side sit two points and three places above the relegation zone, and O'Shea has earmarked victory over fellow strugglers West Bromwich Albion on Saturday to provide the perfect tonic.

"We have to forget Bradford very quickly and focus in on the job in hand. We need to stick together and move on," he told The Mirror.

"We're already looking ahead to Saturday, and because of what's just happened, whoever we were playing next was always going to be a big game.

"There needs to be a reaction."

Sunderland have won just one of their last eight top-flight outings.
