Al-Ain are confident of completing the permanent transfer of Asamoah Gyan from Sunderland soon.

Al-Ain's chief executive Carlo Nohra has revealed that he is confident of securing the services of Asamoah Gyan on a permanent basis this summer.

The Ghanaian striker spent the majority of last season on loan with the United Arab Emirates-based club from Premier League side Sunderland.

That temporary deal has now expired but Nohra believes that an agreement over transfer will be reached soon.

"Regarding Gyan, there's nothing yet, but we are positive about him staying with us for a few more years," he told Sport 360. "Things will become clear soon."

The 26-year-old scored 22 goals during his stint with Al-Ain.
