Report: Sunderland consider £5m Alexandre Pato move

A report suggests that Sunderland are in talks to sign Alexandre Pato from Corinthians in a £5m deal.

Sunderland have reportedly begun discussions to sign Corinthians forward Alexandre Pato.

The 25-year-old spent five seasons with AC Milan where he made 117 appearances in Serie A, scoring 51 goals, although his career at the club was blighted by injuries.

Pato moved to Corinthians in 2013, but has been on loan with Sao Paulo for the past two seasons where he has found his form.

The Black Cats are looking to bolster their frontline and are considering signing the Brazil international in a £5m deal, reports The Mirror.

Connor Wickham was reportedly closing in a move to Crystal Palace, although Eagles manager Alan Pardew has revealed that no deal was yet in place for the 22-year-old.
