Sunderland defender Valentin Roberge to be shown door if replacement is found?

Valentin Roberge will reportedly be allowed to leave Sunderland if Gus Poyet can find a replacement before the window shuts.

Valentin Roberge could reportedly leave Sunderland before Monday's transfer deadline if the club are able to bring in defensive reinforcements before then.

Reports suggest that Ligue 1 side Stade de Reims are interested in Roberge, who is not fit for Sunderland's Premier League encounter at Queens Park Rangers today.

There is genuine interest from Reims and they have made an enquiry about the 27-year-old, according to the Shields Gazette.

Sunderland boss Gus Poyet is looking to strengthen his options in central defence before the end of the window, with the Black Cats linked to both Celtic's Virgil van Dijk and Atletico Madrid's Toby Alderweireld this week.
