Swansea City have confirmed that midfielder Leon Britton will jet to Germany to undergo a double hernia operation.
The 30-year-old, who will fly to Munich with the club's physiotherapist Kate Rees, is hopeful that he will return to action in time for pre-season in July.
"For the last two months of the season my groin has felt quite tight, but I wanted to play through the pain and finish the season," Britton told the club's official website.
"I missed parts of training in that time but it was necessary to ensure I was available for the games, although I did struggle a little bit in the last four to six weeks."
Britton is expected to be part of the Swans side competing in the Europa League next season.
