Swansea City manager Michael Laudrup believes that referee Mike Dean amplified the ill feeling at today's match against Tottenham Hotspur by failing to stop play.

Swansea City manager Michael Laudrup has declared that referee Mike Dean was to blame for the confusion which surrounded the end of today's match at White Hart Lane.

Dean allowed play to continue with Michu flat on his back in the penalty area following a collision with Tottenham Hotspur keeper Hugo Lloris.

Andros Townsend almost scored for Spurs, leaving the Swansea players incensed that the match had not been stopped so thatMichu could receive medical attention.

Laudrup thinks that Dean should have made the player's health his primary concern when making his decision.

He told reporters: "When I saw it I thought 'Oh hell, he is unconscious, you can't fake a reaction like that', but fortunately he is OK.

"It is a difficult decision for Mike because Townsend is running through on goal, but the health of a player is more important.

"We were trying for the game to stop immediately and I think all of the mess came as a consequence of that."

The visitors slipped to a 1-0 defeat thanks to a strike from Spurs defender Jan Vertonghen.
