Michael Laudrup "worried" about fitness of Ashley Williams

Swansea City manager Michael Laudrup admits that he is "worried" about the status of Ashley Williams's fitness.

Swansea City manager Michael Laudrup has called on the Wales national team to cooperate with the Swans over the fitness of Ashley Williams.

The defender has been struggling with an ankle ligament problem, and his Danish boss is concerned ahead of next month's international break.

"I'm a little worried, but the problem with Ashley is he's an international," BBC Sport quotes Laudrup as saying. "We have to be careful, but I mean the national team as well.

"I would never ask a player to step down, not to play with his country but I think it's important in combination, club and national team, that we find a solution that can benefit all of us. There will be a moment I think where Ashley will need two weeks without a game."

Williams could be absent for this weekend's Premier League clash against Arsenal.
