Swansea City chairman Huw Jenkins has denied reports that the club are close to securing the signature of Thomas Ince from Blackpool.
It has been claimed this week that the Welsh outfit have opened talks with the England Under-21 international, who has been linked to a number of Premier League clubs.
While Jenkins has admitted that the Swans are interested in the player, he has insisted that reports claiming that a deal is close are pure "speculation".
"Looking at young British players, Tom is one of them and he performs well with the England Under-21s," Jenkins told talkSPORT.
"At our club, at our level, we always look for young players we can possibly add to the squad but whether we get any further with Tom Ince or other players remains to be seen.
"At the moment it is pure speculation, but young players are always great to bring in, to see their careers develop, and we feel our club is right for that."
Ince was linked with Tottenham Hotspur, Cardiff City and Liverpool last season.
