Newcastle's Wayne Routledge is on the verge of a £2m move to Swansea after agreeing personal terms with the Welsh club.
The 26-year-old winger will undergo a medical on Tuesday ahead of a proposed move to the Premier League newcomers.
"We think he would fit into our style and excite our supporters," said Swansea manager Brendan Rodgers.
Swansea had originally had a £1.5m bid for Routledge rejected by Newcastle but came back with an improved offer.
The former England Under-21 player spent much of last season on loan at Queens Park Rangers but could not agree personal terms over a permanent move to Loftus Road.
Meanwhile, Swansea hope to complete the £1.75m signing of Middlesbrough's Leroy Lita on Tuesday.
