Nottingham Forest have approached Newcastle United for striker Wayne Routledge, according to reports.
The Magpies acquired the 26-year-old in January 2010 from Queens Park Rangers, where he later found himself on loan for the second half of the last season in their successful push for the Premiership.
Having declined to stay on with QPR, Routledge has also attracted interest from Leicester and Birmingham City.
Former Blackpool midfielder Andy Reid has been Forest’s only incoming player of the close season.
