Swindon Town complete Eoin Doyle signing

Eoin Doyle returns to Swindon Town on a deal running until the end of the season.

Swindon Town have completed the signing of Eoin Doyle on a permanent deal, the club has confirmed.

The 31-year-old, who has been dubbed "the ginger Pele", scored 23 goals in 22 games while on loan with the Robins in the first half of the season before being recalled by parent club Bradford City earlier this month.

Doyle had previously expressed his disappointment at being recalled but has now penned terms on a permanent switch to the County Ground, albeit on an initial contract which only runs to the end of the season.

Swindon chairman Lee Power said: "We're delighted to have Eoin back – it's been a long, hard negotiation to get him here but I think I can speak for the whole football club and pretty much the whole of Wiltshire that everyone is really excited to see him back in a red shirt.

"I'd also like to put on record that my counterpart at Bradford, Julian Rhodes and the guys at Bradford, found themselves in an unprecedented situation and nothing would give me greater pleasure than both clubs getting promoted this season as I've always had a soft spot for the Bantams since my playing days. I look forward to seeing everyone at the County Ground on Saturday."

Swindon currently lead the way in the League Two standings and next welcome second-placed Exeter on Saturday afternoon.
