Jermaine Pennant 'moves to Indian Super League to play for FC Pune City'

Jermaine Pennant reportedly joins Indian Super League side FC Pune City after being released by Stoke City in the summer.

Jermaine Pennant has reportedly left England to play for FC Pune City in the newly-formed Indian Super League.

The 31-year-old claimed that he was keeping his options open in the summer when Stoke City decided against renewing his contract after three years.

According to the Daily Mail, the Indian outfit have called on Pennant as a replacement for Colombian Omar Andres Rodriguez, who will miss the rest of the season with a kidney problem.

Pennant played for a number of English clubs, including Arsenal, Portsmouth and Liverpool, throughout his career.

The midfielder is one of many former Premier League players, including Robert Pires and Nicolas Anelka, who have moved to the Indian league.
