Wales manager Chris Coleman insists that his team must improve to stand a chance at qualifying for the 2014 World Cup.

Wales manager Chris Coleman has insisted that his team must improve to stand a chance of qualifying for the 2014 World Cup.

The former Fulham boss watched his side lose 2-0 to Bosnia-Hercegovina in a friendly this evening, a performance that he described as "disappointing".

"There are not many positives we can take from that. It was a disappointing performance. We are a lot better than that, we know that," Coleman told BBC Sport.

"If we're not then we're not going to be going anywhere."

Goals either side of half-time from Veded Ibisevic and Miroslav Stevanovic gave the away side a deserved victory at Llanelli's Parc y Scarlets.

"We looked rusty [and] we looked nervous for some reason," Coleman added.

"I'm not going to take anyway from Bosnia - they're a good team. But we can be better than that."

Wales's World Cup qualification campaign gets under way against Belgium in Cardiff on September 7.
