Slavisa Jokanovic "proud" of Watford display

Watford boss Slavisa Jokanovic admits that he was delighted with his side as they earned a 2-2 draw against Derby County despite being reduced to 10 men in the first half.

Watford boss Slavisa Jokanovic has revealed that he was proud of his side's display in their 2-2 draw against Derby County as they played the second half with 10 men.

The Hornets took the lead at the iPro Stadium through Matej Vydra, but were pegged back as Marco Motta conceded a penalty and was duly sent off, which allowed Darren Bent to convert from the spot.

Tom Ince put the Rams ahead in the second half, but Jokanovic's men battled back to earn a share of the spoils as Odion Ighalo found the back of the net.

He told Sky Sports News: "I am proud because we believed we could change the situation, which is good news with six games in front of us.

"We must be brave and believe in our possibilities. I am always confident in my team because if the players play with confidence, they believe they are a good team and can change the situation in the second half.

"In my opinion [Motta's foul] was not enough for a sending-off but the referee has another opinion and that's it. Derby play good football but my team play good football too."

Watford dropped to fourth in the Championship due to results elsewhere despite their draw with the Rams.
