Mark Bridge put the hosts ahead on midway through the second half, but a goal from Tyler Boyd and a Stein Huysegems brace sealed a remarkable victory for Phoenix.

After failing to win any of their first 10 A-League matches, Wellington have now won three in a row.

They remain ninth in the table, but they are level on points with seventh-placed Adelaide United.
