Nicky Shorey claims that Roy Hodgson has taught his players to understand the value of their performances.

Nicky Shorey has said that Roy Hodgson has taught the West Brom players to understand the value of their performances.

The Baggies are yet to secure their first points of the season after three one-goal losses to Manchester United, Chelsea and Stoke.

While the team will be looking to get their season off the mark at Carrow Road this afternoon, the left-back is confident that the West Brom will get the right return of points at the end of the season as long as the players continue to put in the performances.

"We believe we can get something from the game, but clearly the wrong result will spin things and be treated as a disaster by everyone else.

"Thankfully the gaffer is very level headed, and will already have seen what we are doing right and what we are doing wrong. He is not somebody who is going to panic, and that is the best way to be.

"He makes us aware that if we put in decent performances throughout the season we will ultimately get the return of points we need."

Hodgson first signed the fullback on loan while at Fulham in 2010, before his move to the Hawthorns last season saw them reunited.
