England Under-21s manager Gareth Southgate has predicted that Saido Berahino will play again for West Bromwich Albion this season, despite the player threatening a strike.
The 22-year-old lodged a transfer request after learning of interest from Tottenham Hotspur during the summer transfer window.
However, the Baggies rejected Berahino's request to leave and also turned down numerous offers from Spurs.
In response to West Brom's stance, the striker tweeted that he will "never play" under chairman Jeremy Peace again, but Southgate thinks differently.
"You speak as you find people and Saido was super for us," The Express quotes Southgate as saying. "We enjoyed his personality and his football for us. He has a lot of potential. I'm sure he will sort things out with West Brom, I'm sure he will play for Tony [Pulis] and get on with him."
Berahino has reportedly been given extra time off.
