Tony Pulis: 'No decision made on Saido Berahino future'

West Bromwich Albion boss Tony Pulis says that he has to "sit down and think about" his decision over whether to sell in-demand striker Saido Berahino this month.

West Bromwich Albion manager Tony Pulis has insisted that he will have the final say over the future of striker Saido Berahino.

The England Under-21s international has enjoyed an impressive campaign to date, scoring 14 goals in all competitions to see his name linked with an array of Premier League rivals.

It has been suggested that the Baggies could let their star forward leave should a bid of the right amount be made, although Pulis claims that allowing Berahino to leave could cost the club millions of pounds should they suffer relegation as a direct result.

"The chairman has said it will be the manager's decision at the end and I will have to decide whether to do it or not," he is quoted as saying by the Birmingham Mail. "Then you take into account what you have brought in, what you have been left with and everything else. Staying in the Premiership is vital for the football club.

"How much is the TV deal next year? Hundreds of millions. You have to sit down and think about it. You'd have to look at how strong the squad was that he was leaving to agree to it.

"If the squad wasn't strong enough it would be very, very difficult to say 'yes' but you still might take a chance. The important thing is he keeps doing what he has been doing. He's been brilliant around the place."

Reports emerged yesterday claiming that West Brom have made a bid for former Newcastle United favourite Shola Ameobi as a potential replacement for Berahino.
