Sam Allardyce: 'I warned West Ham United owners of team selection'

Sam Allardyces does not rule out the possibility of yesterday's 5-0 defeat at Nottingham Forest costing him his job at Upton Park.

West Ham United manager Sam Allardyce has said that he informed the club's hierarchy of his team selection ahead of yesterday's FA Cup humiliation at Nottingham Forest.

The 59-year-old made nine changes to his side - handing debuts to four youth-team players - as the injury-ravaged Hammers suffered a 5-0 thrashing at the City Ground.

Recent reports have suggested that the former Bolton Wanderers, Newcastle United and Blackburn Rovers boss survived crisis talks at Upton Park, although he has since rejected these claims.

However, when asked if there could be repercussions following yesterday's result, he replied: "There might be, who knows? It's their decision, not mine.

"I'm not saying it won't happen unless I start to get results. I have got to get results, I know that.

"I picked the team so it is my responsibility, but I made them aware of what would happen because I'm not in the position to go and do these things without telling everybody internally what is planned for the next few games."

The West Londoners have won just one of their last eight Premier League games and find themselves struggling in the bottom three.
