West Ham United boss Sam Allardyce eager to pick up points

West Ham boss Sam Allardyce calls on his team to start turning their performances into victories.

West Ham United boss Sam Allardyce has urged his players to start picking up points quickly following their 2-1 defeat to Manchester United.

The Hammers are currently in 12th place in the Premier League table after earning two wins from their opening six games of the season.

While insisting that his team has put in some "great performances" so far this term, Allardyce wants more of those displays to be converted into victories.

"Overall I wouldn't say it's been a great start in terms of points as we should have at least nine or maybe 10 points so far," he told the club's official website.

"There have been some great performances but great performances need to accumulate points and they're not accumulating enough points.

"Our team seriously has to start thinking about not conceding too many goals. At the moment we have to score a minimum of two goals a game and I don't think we're quite there at the moment where we can score two or more goals every game to get where we want to."

West Ham continue their Premier League campaign on Sunday when they welcome Queens Park Rangers to Upton Park.
